Remote Learning

In the event of an unexpected school closure (such as a snow day or industrial action),  the teachers at St Anthony's will endeavour to provide home learning for classes affected.  Depending on the circumstances, this may take the form of a hard copy work pack for children to complete at home or tasks that are posted on our learning portals, Tapestry and Teams.

We also recommend the Oak National Academy website, which was developed for use during the pandemic.  Parents and students can search for lessons by year group and subject if additional home learning is being sought:

Perhaps you are looking to practise your Maths or maybe you would like to learn how to touch type. 

  • Primary games Simple 100 square that can be used to count on or back in different numbers
  • BBC Educational Games Maths, Literacy and Science educational games, information and activities for KS1 and 2
  • BBC touch typing program A full touch tying program - completed in year 4 - but practise at home in all year groups is benificial
  • Speed typing Typing words that appear as part of a timed game
  • Typing master 3 different games to help with keyboard confidence
  • iboard Some of the games need you to sign up to use but there are a number of free games for all ages with activities across the curriculum
  • Primary games arena A huge range of games on a range of subjects and divided into year groups.
  • Countdown An online version of the tv game countdown.
  • SCRATCH A link to download this programming tool, which will be taught in school in upper KS2
  • Google Sketchup A link to download this 3d drawing tool which will be taught and used during KS2
  • Paint.net A link to download this free drawing and picture editing program used in ICT lessons
