Welcome

St Anthony’s PSA

Welcome to St Anthony’s Parent Staff Association (PSA). As parents of children at the School, we are all automatically members of our PSA.

Our PSA is now a registered charity (charity number 1182582), and our objectives are:

To support St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School and Preschool with developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school and engaging in activities/providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Our main task is to organise social and fundraising events to meet these objectives and ensure the funds raised are used to their maximum benefit. Our headmistress, Mrs Straker, is actively involved in the PSA, and both her and her team are great and enthusiastic supporters of all our activities.  We have regular PSA meetings and social events for parents – keep an eye out for PSA emails, on the PSA boards and on Facebook to find out when and do come and join us.

The Fireworks Display and Summer Fayre are the highlights of the year, but we also run other events, which have included Silly Scott Night, a Barn Dance and second hand uniform sales.

The following are just some of the activities, items and equipment that the PSA has in recent years funded:

  • School Hardship Fund
  • KS1 playground pirate ship safety flooring
  • KS2 playground pick up sticks
  • Line painting on KS1 & KS2 playgrounds
  • The fencing round Forest School
  • Forest School furniture, including Wigwams
  • Resurfacing of EY/KS1 controlled playground
  • Books for KS1 & KS2
  • Additional maths equipment
  • Outdoor classroom equipment for EYFS
  • Subsidised a whole school trip to the panto
  • Christmas cards

We have also worked with the school to successfully apply for a Premises Licence and are working with them in ensuring our policies and theirs, reflect and support each other’s policies.  Now we are a new standalone charity, we are working towards creating a Welcome Pack for each family to receive.

Whether it is becoming an elected member, volunteering at an event, attending events or by making donations, as parents we all have a role we can play within the PSA, and we always welcome new people and new ideas. However you choose to get involved, we hope you will enjoy becoming part of the PSA and we looking forward to welcoming you and your family to our small, friendly community at St Anthony’s.
