St Anthony'sCatholic Primary School and Pre-school

Welcome

Welcome to our Pre-School page. At St Anthony's, we have a qualified teacher led pre-school. The children enjoy a hugely varied curriculum with lots of free play, enhanced play activities, some number and letter work when they are ready and most importantly, lots of outdoor play (with a well loved mud kitchen).

Pre-school hours are 8:30am (or 9am) - 3:00pm, with an option of an extended day for 3-4 year olds which runs from 7:30am through to 5:50pm.

Woodland Wednesday - every Wednesday, the children experience the woodlands in the schools grounds. They light campfires and toast marshmallows and do lots of different activities. This is a forest school approach and the children love it! We also have fairy and elf doors hidden in our school forest which the children love exploring.

Active Anthony's Monday and Thursday - every Monday and Thursday, the children take part in a 'gym tots/active ants' session in the school hall with all the gymnastics equipment out. They thoroughly enjoy the climbing and balancing and moving around the equipment.

Welly walks - these part of the curriculum and children often go on welly walks around the grounds or the local area.

Farm School - we are currently setting up a farm school at St Anthony's which all the children will benefit from. They will help to look after the animals and feed them, as well as plant fruit and veg.

Graduation - our school starter children take part in a graduation ceremony in the summer before they start school and all the family is invited to attend this wonderful occassion.

We take children from 2 years old. Call us to make an appointment where you will meet the teacher and she will show you around the pre-school. The school number is 01489579100. Please fill out the form on the 'Joining Forms' page if you'd like to register your interest and email it back to us.

You do not have to be Catholic to attend our pre-school (or school - although admissions criteria applies). All are very welcome.
