One of the Catholic Social Teaching principles that we practise with the children is 'Option for the Poor', which means we try to prioritise those who need the most help.
As a school, we find ways to fundraise that empower children to take an active role, supported by adults. Through our GIFT team and School Council, we also support charities chosen by our children.
In the last year, we have supported the Rotary Shoebox appeal during Advent after our pupils wanted to support less fortunate children, particularly those in the Ukraine. During Lent, our GIFT and School Council teams chose to support a local charity that helps the homeless in towns and cities near our school.
Our pupils often spot other opporutnities to raise money for charities and organise cake or sweet sales after school.
If your child is interested in doing something like this, please encourage them to speak to their teacher or the Headteacher, who will help them to put their ideas into action.
